Over Christmas I watched a few movies from the Eighties. Time to reminisce for a minute about my childhood…
Yes, I am at the point where, although I am only 41, this is the sixth decade that I’ve lived in. Whilst the Nineties was the best, there are films from the Eighties that are classics and are still great to watch!
Perhaps one of the best films of all time, BTTF is the film that still makes me want to ride a skateboard. It taught me about how to be cool. 
I can still remember the first time I heard that laugh! 
Such a classic! This was every boy’s dream… 
Excellent. 
There was something about Eddie Murphy that made this film so endearing. 
Ok, so I didn’t watch this as a kid, so it shouldn’t really be on this list. But it is one of the best films ever made, so it’s staying. Ok? 
This was the first film that ever made me cry. 
Don’t cross the streams. 
The perfect kids’ film. What an adventure! I’m so glad this has never been remade – it is perfect! 
We named our cat Gizmo after the cutest film star ever. 
Ok, so Empire Strikes Back was better, but I remember loving the Ewoks (and later, loving the Ewoks cartoon) 
All boys in the Eighties wanted to grow up to be Indiana Jones. 
Johnny Five! So many happy hours were spent watching Short Circuit on repeat on VHS. 
I think I was actually in high school when I first watched this. A great film about being friends. All children should watch this to understand what friendship without phones and gadgets is really like. It’s great. 
I still find the ending a bit creepy! But the rest of the film is so much fun!
